Efficient metabolite screening and synthesis

At Nuvisan, we leverage a vast collection of microorganisms, including fungi, bacteria and CYP enzyme variants, to support oxidative drug metabolite synthesis. With decades of expertise, we offer efficient screening, biotransformation and scale-up processes to deliver high-quality drug metabolites for your discovery projects, minimising the need for lengthy de novo synthesis.

Our process begins with screening using two specialised panels:

  • Wild-type strain panel: comprises 55 fungi and bacteria strains for broad-spectrum metabolite identification
  • CYP panel: comprises 119 human wild-type and bacterial CYP variants (e.g., CYP3A4, 2D6, CYP102A1), targeting oxidative metabolite synthesis.

Next, we proceed with microbial biotransformation:

  • Scale-up to 10L fermenters for initial biotransformation, followed by purification and structure elucidation
  • We also offer chemical oxidation or glucuronidation as additional synthesis possibilities.

Finally, we perform large-scale production:

  • Up to 100L fermenters for gram-scale production of drug metabolites, ensuring high yields for further testing and development.
