Our in-house separation technologies laboratory (STL) specialises in providing efficient and customisable solutions for the purification and separation of a broad range of compounds. Utilising advanced techniques such as high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), ultra-performance liquid chromatography (UPLC) and supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC), we support projects ranging from precision analytical determinations to chiral separations and large-scale batch purifications.
We specialise in advanced separation techniques for enantiomers and diastereomers across a wide range of compound types, including small molecules, PROTAC®s, peptides, macrocycles and lipids. With decades of combined expertise, we provide tailored solutions from analytical purity determinations to large-scale batch purification.
Using fast, mass spectrometry (MS)-guided preparative HPLC and SFC, we optimise synthesis workflows, helping save both time and cost while providing high-quality purification. Our laboratory handles projects from milligram-scale by-product isolation to kilogram-scale enantiomer separation, supported by comprehensive condition screening and enantiomeric excess (ee) studies.
All batches undergo careful processing, including routine lyophilisation, using automated solvent processing systems to minimise handling and waste. Our fully digitised LIMS systems help ensure secure, seamless data management and facilitate direct communication with clients.
We collaborate closely with all units at Nuvisan. For example, we separate samples from the microbiological chemistry laboratory to obtain pure metabolites, which are then characterised in our metabolite discovery platform. We also partner with other laboratories, such as PhysChem, to apply our specialised SFC techniques. SFC is used for specialised analytical measurements, including experimental polar surface area (ePSA) services.
