Drug Discovery DMPK

DMPK discovery studies are specifically focusing on the identification and optimization of lead structures to establish a viable clinical candidate.

The initial step comprises the use of in vitro-techniques to identify lead molecules with “drug-like” ADME properties and favorable physicochemistry. Some of our assays can be performed with a high-throughput design for fast screening of compound libraries. The initial in vitro investigations facilitate and complement the identification of suitable lead compounds for in vivo pharmacokinetic studies.

Depending on your compound profile and needs, customized in vivo study designs are conducted by our DMPK experts to provide an early PK profile analysis for further lead optimization in view of the selection of a promising candidate. In Vitro PK & DDI

Our in vitro compound profiling services includes in vitro metabolic stability (liver microsomes and hepatocytes), permeability and transporters, in vitro protein binding and blood partitioning, CYP inhibition (reversible and irreversible), and CYP induction. We offer data rapidly, reliably, and of the highest quality and provide scientific support by explanation of the results and the suggestion of appropriate screening strategies to overcome ADME liabilities.

NUVISAN´s discovery experience guides you towards your candidate drug and paves the way to further developmental DMPK studies in view of IND submission for Phase I studies.

With this regard, we support you with thorough in vitro biotransformation studies on the selection of appropriate tox species by doing an interspecies comparison in e.g. hepatocyte suspensions. Accompanied by our experience in developmental toxicology studies, we can pinpoint the starting dose for first-in-human/first-in-patient clinical trials.
